| Introduction
to Climbing 1:
Cost: Members, Free Non-members, $30
Learn about the exciting sport of rock climbing. Our Intro class
teaches all the basics: knot-tying, anchoring, belay technique,
and more. Participants also receive a FREE two-week trial membership upon completion
of the class.
Class times: Mondays at 6:30pm. Wednesdays** at
9:30am and 6:30pm. Thursdays at 6:30pm. Saturdays at 1:00pm and
6:30pm. Sundays at 1:00pm.
Summer (Memorial Day-Labor Day)Changes -
Wednesday evening class
is at 7:00pm
**48-hour advance regristration required for the Wednesday morning
and evening classes.
Participants 16 & up: Instruction is 1.5 to
2 hours, followed by a recommended hour of monitored climbing &
belaying. The final hour is optional but strongly recommended. You
will need to wait at least 24 hrs. after the class before coming
back to take a certification test.
Participants 13-15 years old: Instruction is 1.5
to 2 hours followed by a mandatory hour of monitored climbing and
belaying. You will also need to receive 15 observed belays over
several visits in order to become belay certified.

"The Refresher":
Cost: Free with purchase of Day Pass or Membership.
For those of you who have belayed in the past but need to refresh
your technical belay skills by reviewing the knots, command sequences
and belay technique with a Peak staff member. Whether you are a
recent graduate of ITC1 or you need a refresher to pass our belay
test, we'll be happy to help you refine your skills.
Class Times: Reservations Recommended. If you make a reservation,
we will have staff ready for you. Walk-in customers are welcome,
but class is dependant on staff availability.
PreRequisites: Bring a friend to climb for you
(Day Pass and Acknowledgement of Risks form required for both you and your friend) and
ITC1 or previous belaying experience.
The ITC2 instructor may recommend the full ITC class at any point
during the ITC2 if more basic instruction is required.
Class Includes: Up to 1 hour of instruction and observation.
Belay Equipment, Harness and Shoes during the class only. See the
front desk for additional belay certification requirements for Participants
13-15 years old.
