Peak Experiences Midlothian is a 13,000 sq. ft. facility featuring top rope climbing, lead climbing, bouldering, and auto-belay systems.  See our glossary below for a better understanding of the different types of climbing.  If you already know how to belay and can pass a belay test then a day pass may be a better option for you.

Waiver Form: 

Please be aware that all participants must have a signed Assumption of Risks form on file before participating in any activity.  For those under the age of 18 the form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.  Save time and fill out this form online.  Waiver forms are valid at both locations.  There is no minimum age or weight restrictions to try out climbing.  We have a variety of equipment that can fit all shapes and sizes.  


Peak Experiences Midlothian allows walk-ins for our Sampler product on Saturdays from 10am-4pm and Sundays from 11am-4pm.  **Summer Hours: June-August we take walk-ins Mon-Fri from 10am-3pm.

We call this time "Open Climb."  Outside of "Open Climb" we will try to accommodate any walk-ins based on staff availability or you will be instructed to use our auto-belay systems.

Learn the Ropes Belay Class - $40


Top rope climbing - where your climbing rope is wrapped around an anchor at the top of the wall.  A belayer manages the slack as you climb.  No minimum age to climb!  We have equipment to fit many types of climbers.

Lead Climbing - more advanced climbing where you clip the rope into anchor points as you ascend the wall.  Must be 13 to lead climb.  Must be 16 to lead belay.

Bouldering - shorter and more powerful climbing done above padded floors.  This type of climbing does not require any gear or a belayer but can be challenging for beginners.  Must be 7 to use the bouldering cave unsupervised.  Anyone younger must have a parent actively-engaged supervising them in the bouldering area.

Auto-Belay Systems - machines fixed at the top of a climbing wall that allow you to attach an anchor to your harness.  As you ascend the machine retracts.  If you fall or let go it lowers you to the ground slowly.  Learn more about TrueBlue Auto Belays here.  Must be 16 to use the auto-belays unsupervised.  Adults may supervise children on these devices.

Belayer - the person on the ground trained on how to properly manage your climbing rope as you climb.  Must be 13 or older to belay in our facility unless an active member in one of our Youth Programs.
