Hiking Expedition Information Sheet
We are psyched to be offering this brand new camp in 2019! Campers will spend the first day dialing in their pack on Monday, sleep at home Monday night, and then spend the next 4 days hiking and trace camping in George Washington National Forest.
+ PAYMENT INFORMATION
Unpaid balances are due two weeks before the start of your camp session. For your convenience, we will debit your credit card with the balance due. Thank you for your prompt attention to this.
+ DROP OFF HOURS AND LOCATION
Monday and Tuesday morning, June 17, 18, drop-off for your camp is 8am at Historic Tredegar & The American Civil War Museum - formerly Tredegar Iron Works - next to the Belle Isle parking lot. (500 Tredegar Street, Richmond, VA 23219) Please park as directed by our camp staff and meet us at the Hiking Expedition check-in table. We will confirm your contact information, and you can meet our counselors.
+ PICK UP HOURS AND LOCATION
Monday Afternoon, June 17th, pick up is 4:45pm, at Historic Tredegar & The American Civil War Museum - formerly Tredegar Iron Works - next to the Belle Isle parking lot. (500 Tredegar Street, Richmond, VA 23219)
Friday afternoon, June 21st, pick up is by 5pm, at Peak RVA located at 1375 Overbrook Road, adjacent to the SCOR facility.
+ CHECKLIST: WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
Everything must fit in your hiking backpack. If you can’t put the packed backpack on by yourself - you’re bringing too much!
Compact waterproof tent or bivy sack
Mess kit (plate, bowl, fork, spoon)
Fixed blade knife and sheath
Hydration bladder and a water bottle
Small flashlight or headlamp
Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, biodegradable soap, bug spray)
Facecloth and towel
Journal – pen
Shorts, t-shirt, long-sleeved shirt, pants, raincoat, fleece
2 pairs of socks
Hiking shoes / boots
• We supply all food, transportation, and camping fees. $25 cash should be enough to cover any incidentals a camper may need/want.
• Please label all of your belongings.
• Please do not bring electronics or valuables. They are guaranteed to get wet, lost, or misplaced.
