Passages Day Camps are held on beautiful Belle Isle in downtown Richmond, For 25 years, campers have discovered that Richmond has an awesome river running through it and historic Belle Isle is a paradise among the skyscrapers.
Rock and River camp offers boys and girls the opportunity to explore the sports of rock climbing and kayaking. Using the James River Park System as our playground we will take you climbing, rappelling, and zip-lining in the Belle Isle rock quarry and kayaking down the whitewater of the James! We also offer GIRLS ONLY weeks of this camp.
Once you've made it through our Rock and River camp, master your skills by moving onto Advance Climbing or Advance Kayaking Camp. Advance Climbers will explore the Manchester Wall and take a trip to the Blue Ridge. Advance Kayakers will hone their skills on the Lower James running Hollywood and Pipeline rapids.
At Fat Tire camp you will hone your mountain biking skills all over the Richmond area park system. Even with no experience you'll be shredding the gnar by the end of the week. Campers will explore Pocahontas State Park, Wahrani Nature Park, the BMX track at Gillies Creek, the James River Park System, and Freedom Park in Williamsburg!
This camp is all about having a good time and you get a say in the activities for the week. Explore the river, go off our wet zip-line, travel to the mountains or the beach. Each week of The Blast presents its own unique experience!
SUP or Stand-Up Paddleboarding is another great way to experience the river, and get a good workout! You will start by working on balance and maneuvering in the quarry pond and then practice on some of the river's most beautiful flatwater. And by the end of the week you'll be paddling down moderate rapids on the Upper James!
This camp is designed for middle school cross-country runners looking to prepare for the season, or anyone who loves to run! You will explore the trails throughout the James River Park System as well as travel with other specialty camps throughout the week to places like Pocahontas State Park and Freedom Park in Williamsburg.
