Summer Schedule for Youth Teams
Junior Climbing Team and Training Team now at Peak RVA!
Junior Team and Training Team are both non-competitive climbing teams. Junior Team is for kids ages 8-12. Training Team is for kids 12-17.
Junior Climbing Team focuses on climbing basics, teaching solid belay skills, developing teamwork and camaraderie, and having lots of fun.
Training Team focuses on utilizing planned workouts and climbing exercises to help climbers develop technique, strength, endurance, and power. This is all done while reinforcing the good belay habits, teamwork, and camaraderie built on Junior Team.

-A FREE T-shirt!

We also are requiring that anyone working the competition wall also works at least one hour at the citizen’s wall to take care of the kiddos.
USAC Capital Region Championship @ Peak RVA - 5/12
Peak Experiences is so proud to be hosting the 2018 Sport and Speed Capital Region Championship at our brand new facility on Saturday, May 12th! This event will host competitors from across the Capital Region (VA, WV, MD, DE). Climbing is now an Olympic sport and this is where it all begins!
Peak RVA will be closed to the public from 8am - 10pm, Saturday, May 12th as hundreds of youth competitors scale the walls looking to move on to Divisionals! However, spectators are welcome, so please join us to watch these incredible athletes.
A few quick notes about Regionals:
There will be limited rope climbing terrain the week leading up to Regionals for route setting. Setting starts May 7th - May 12th. Our very own Eric Mahan will be serving as Chief Route Setter for this event! Best part is, all of these meticulously crafted routes will be available for you to climb after the event! Also, now with the luxury of two locations, PeakMidlo just got a BIG reset of both rope routes and bouldering. Don't forget that your memberships are good at both locations! With over 15,000 sq ft of climbing and 5,000 sq ft of bouldering at PeakRVA, there will still be plenty of available terrain while route setting is taking place. And as always, our fitness and yoga classes are FREE for members, so this could be the perfect time to check out that class you've been meaning to dive into. Again, we hope you join us for this incredible event. We are thrilled to be able to host high caliber events at #PeakRVA!
Are you interested in volunteering at Regionals?
We have multiple volunteer spaces open for belaying (lead, top rope), iso monitors, judges, speed pullers, etc. that we could use your help with on the day of the event. Previous lead belay competition experience is preferred for that position, no prior experience is required to work the non-belaying positions. We will cover your duties day of the competition. Please go to https://bit.ly/2JQ7Oj5 to sign up. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt, meal ticket for lunch, and are entered into the volunteer raffle to win either a rope or climbing shoe of your choice (from a model we carry in our retail shop). It's a great way to help support our climbing community, and a way to get up close to the action!
